In late August, a small shop called "Tingxia Coffee" began trial operation in Baibuting Community, Jiang'an District, Wuhan.

With a minimum price of 4 yuan and a maximum price of 9.9 yuan, 24 free grid shops open to entrepreneurs, and a joint investment of over 50000 yuan by 126 young volunteers, this caf é has never been an ordinary caf é from the beginning.

The profit margin for a cup of 9.9 yuan coffee is not high. It is reported that on the first day of trial operation, the turnover exceeded 700 yuan, and on the third day, it was also close to 700 yuan. Shao Jianzhao said that after one month of operation, the cost will be calculated, and all income after deducting basic expenses will be given back to the community for carrying out volunteer service activities and assisting disadvantaged groups.

Shao Jianzhao is the person in charge of this coffee shop. It is understood that he once opened a wedding dress shop in the Baibuting community, starting from an online store and opening a physical store with the help of the community. Later, his business expanded to other areas.

After the community renovation was completed, leaving behind a 140 square meter space, the community staff asked him, "Can we use this place to gather young friends together?" Shao Jianzhao thought of coffee - low threshold, high-frequency, and popular among young people.

We just wanted to use coffee as a medium to bring our relatives and friends together, "he told Jiupai News." Stop and stop, gather and talk about life and work

The initial investment for "Tingxia Coffee" is about 50000 yuan, all donated by 126 young volunteers. Volunteers come from a team that has been established for many years, founded in 2021 and upgraded to the "Chasing Dreams Community Service Center" social organization in 2025. The membership certification rate is over 90%, including social workers, teachers, lawyers, psychological counselors, etc.

The coffee shop has a minimum price of 4 yuan and a maximum price of 9.9 yuan. We don't have rent, so let's lower the price, "Shao Jianzhao said.

More than 10 volunteers are responsible for daily operations on a rotating basis, with priority given to full-time mothers and recent college graduates. They work 3 to 4 hours per person on a shift system, with schedules based on the time it takes to pick up and drop off children

There are 24 grid shops in the store, which are open to community college students and young makers for free as product display surfaces. The entry criteria are still being formulated. "We want to operate for a period of time to see what young people who come to drink coffee want to see and need

Currently, more than 10 entrepreneurs have registered, including one handicraft entrepreneur. He hopes to use this platform to showcase his strengths and alleviate economic pressure, "said Shao Jianzhao." Grid Shop does not limit project types, but hopes to reflect a culture of volunteer service and social work.
