Brand Origin
Trademark applicant Yunnan Delu Coffee Co., Ltd., Manlaojiang Coffee originated from a poverty alleviation project in Pu'er, Yunnan in 1997. The project aims to help more than 3000 Lisu coffee farmers develop sustainable coffee businesses while protecting 150000 acres of pristine rainforest. The brand is named after the Manlao River in Pu'er, which means "river with sweet water flavor" in Dai language.
Development History
In 2008, Man Lao Jiang coffee was first exported to the United States, Germany and other places, and joined the Fine Coffee Association of the United States and the European Union. In 2009, due to its outstanding taste, it was recommended as the only Yunnan coffee that could be made as a single item. In 2011, it became Starbucks' first Chinese supplier. In 2012, became the first Chinese coffee to enter the World Barista Championship (WBC) final. From 2015 to 2017, it became the designated bean for the finals of two World Coffee Baking Championships.
