云南咖啡种植始于1892年,由法国传教士在宾川县朱苦拉村引种成功,至今已有130多年历史。20世纪50年代开始大规模普及种植,历经多年发展,如今已成为中国最大的咖啡产区,2024年种植面积达126.7万亩,产量14.6万吨,占全国总产量的98%以上。

云南地处北纬15°至北回归线之间,属于世界黄金咖啡带,产区主要分布在普洱、保山、临沧、德宏等7个州市。这里低纬度、高海拔、昼夜温差大,土壤肥沃、日照充足、雨量丰富,与哥伦比亚等世界著名咖啡产区的自然条件相似,为咖啡生长提供了理想环境。

品种丰富优质 

主产品种为阿拉比卡,俗称云南小粒咖啡,传统上以波帮变种和铁毕卡变种为主,后来又引入了卡蒂姆等品种。这些品种的咖啡豆具有香气浓郁、味道柔和、酸度适中等特点,是制作高品质咖啡的理想原料。
