The first coffee market in Northwest China is launched in Lanzhou, with the aim of stimulating consumer vitality through the "first economic launch"

The reporter learned from the Lanzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce that in order to deepen the implementation of the national special action to boost consumption, accelerate the cultivation of the "first tier economy", and stimulate urban consumption vitality, the first national boutique coffee themed exhibition in the northwest region, the "Beautiful Coffee" market, opened at the Lanzhou Wanda Plaza from May 21 to 24. This event is jointly created by Lanzhou Wanda Plaza and the well-known domestic market brand "Beautiful Things", and is another landmark achievement of Lanzhou City's promotion of the integrated development of "first exhibition, first show, and first launch".
It is reported that the theme of this market is "Don't leave Lanzhou, drink all over the country", gathering more than 50 boutique coffee brands from more than 20 cities including Shanghai, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, etc., most of which are from other cities, with over 95% leading the way to the Gansu Qingning region. On site, not only did three national coffee competition champions come to perform, but also first-line internet famous brands such as Coffee Spot, Parking Coffee, Bathhouse Coffee, and Sanmuyu were gathered to create an immersive boutique coffee consumption experience through various sections such as coffee tasting, champion brewing show, and lifestyle market. The event is open for 9 hours daily and is fully open to the public free of charge.
Since 2025, the Lanzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce has successively issued policy documents such as "Several Measures to Support the Accelerated Development of the 'First Release Economy'" and "Guidelines for the Application of Pilot Projects for New Consumption Formats, Models, and Scenarios in Lanzhou City". Under policy guidance, key commercial entities such as Lanzhou Wanda Plaza, Guofang Center, and Lanzhou Center have introduced high-energy first store and first exhibition resources, forming a "first launch matrix". As the first exhibition in Northwest China, the "Beautiful Coffee" market not only fills the gap of high-quality coffee culture exhibitions in the region, but also becomes an innovative sample of the integration of economy, culture, business and tourism.
According to the organizer's estimation, the event will attract 50000 to 80000 visitors, combined with the peak of out of town tourists brought by the Lanzhou Marathon, effectively activating weekend and nighttime consumption, and driving the coordinated development of surrounding catering, retail, accommodation and other business formats. The relevant person in charge of the Lanzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce stated that in the future, the first launch economic service system will continue to be improved, supporting the creation of first launch centers, first exhibition gathering areas, and new product release platforms, encouraging more high-quality international and domestic brands to hold first stores, first shows, and first exhibition activities in Lanzhou, promoting the "first launch economy" from "breakthrough points" to "overall momentum", and helping Lanzhou build a consumption center city in the northwest region.
