为了让科学走进大众日常，让科技创新氛围与城市咖啡文化有机融合，形成都市生活新风尚，今年上海科技节期间，在上海的城市街头出现了六家很特别的快闪咖啡馆，它们都有一个共同的名字——“X咖啡馆”。
“X”作为一个字母代表数学中的未知数，作为一个图形代表的是交叉。在“X咖啡馆”它代表的是交叉学科和探索未知。科技主题快闪咖啡馆“X咖啡馆”不止是休闲喝咖啡的场所，更是面向公众的科学互动社区。
东方卫视大型科创先锋访谈节目《执牛耳者》推出上海科技节特别节目——《X咖啡馆》，邀请科学家们走进“X咖啡馆”。《X咖啡馆》首期节目设置在复旦大学，聚焦习近平总书记关于基础研究座谈会的重要讲话精神，特别邀请白春礼、薛其坤、包信和、高福、彭慧胜等五位中国科学院院士齐聚“X咖啡馆”，一起讨论一个被反复追问的话题：基础研究，它看上去离生活很远，却常常影响着未来世界的方向。
五位院士应邀而来，共话基础研究的时代使命，一场关于科学、创新与未来的智慧交锋就此展开。
科学并不遥远，它就藏在每一次好奇的提问里，每一次不经意的驻足中。

The letter 'X' represents the unknown variable in mathematics, while the figure represents the intersection. At X Cafe, it represents interdisciplinary and exploration of the unknown. The technology themed pop-up coffee shop "X Cafe" is not only a place for casual coffee drinking, but also a scientific interactive community for the public.
The large-scale science and technology innovation pioneer interview program "Leading Ear" on Dragon TV has launched a special program for the Shanghai Science and Technology Festival called "X Cafe", inviting scientists to enter the "X Cafe". The first episode of "X Cafe" is set at Fudan University, focusing on the important speech of General Secretary Xi Jinping on the symposium on basic research. Five academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, including Bai Chunli, Xue Qikun, Bao Xinhe, Gao Fu, and Peng Huisheng, are specially invited to gather at "X Cafe" to discuss a repeatedly asked topic: basic research, which may seem far from life but often affects the direction of the future world.
Five academicians were invited to discuss the mission of basic research in the era, and a smart battle about science, innovation, and the future began.
Science is not far away, it is hidden in every curious question and every inadvertent pause.
