每四颗进口豆就有一颗源自厦门港 厦门构筑咖啡产业新生态Every four imported beans come from Xiamen Port, and Xiamen is building a new ecology for the coffee industry

Xiamen, May 26th (Reporter Wu Xinhua and Wu Mei) - A gentle breeze swept over the surface of the lake, carrying the roasted aroma of coffee beans. It mixed with the lights, strings, and voices in the twilight, giving birth to the unique romance of Egret Island. As a key supporting event of the Huangou Xiamen International Consumption Season, the Xiamen Dongdang Lake Living Season kicked off at Bailuzhou West Park, using coffee as a medium and lake scenery as a charm, deeply integrating ecological resources, coffee culture, and consumption scenes, allowing the lakeside fireworks and coffee aroma to blend into a unique Xiamen style consumption scenic line.
The event gathered nearly a hundred domestic and foreign coffee and lifestyle brands, including international champion coffee brands such as STITCH COFFEE from Australia, Homestead from Singapore, and ROAST8RY from Thailand. Local specialty coffee brands also appeared on the same stage, jointly building a diversified business matrix covering boutique coffee, roasted light food, cultural and creative handicrafts, and outdoor leisure. This is the first "lakeside lifestyle" urban IP that Xiamen is fully committed to creating, establishing a new platform for national coffee culture exchange. The activity effectively activated the resources of the area, helping the Dongdang Lake area become a vibrant new space for citizens' leisure, tourists' check-in, and consumption upgrading, further promoting the scale and branding development of the coffee industry, "said the relevant person in charge of the Siming District Commerce Bureau.
A lively lakeside coffee market reflects Xiamen's profound coffee consumption heritage and industry development foundation. Song Weiqian, Vice President of Xiamen Baking and Coffee Association, analyzed in a previous interview that the coffee industry in Xiamen started early and relied on its unique geographical advantage over Taiwan. In the early years, Taiwanese coffee brands were among the most advanced and stationed locally, bringing mature operating models and coffee culture concepts, laying a solid foundation for the development of the entire industry; Today, Internet coffee has opened up the market with a price of 9.9 yuan, gradually cultivating the habit of daily coffee consumption of the public, which virtually also broadens the source of customers for boutique coffee and attracts customers. Huang Xiaojing, the organizer and person in charge of the Dongdang Lake Life Season, also has this view. She believes that Xiamen has a profound cultural development of boutique coffee, and many high-quality coffee brands have emerged locally and in the Fujian region; At present, the layout of Xiamen's coffee industry chain is becoming increasingly perfect, coupled with high-density distribution of boutique coffee shops, creating a rich and mellow coffee consumption atmosphere throughout the city.

The vigorous vitality of the consumer market is supported by detailed data. Ele.me platform once released the "White Paper on China's Coffee Industry", which showed that Xiamen ranks fourth in the country in terms of the proportion of coffee consumers, only behind Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Beijing. According to Dianping data, Xiamen is one of the cities with the highest density of coffee shops in China. There are over 1200 coffee shops in the city, and the density of their branches ranks among the top in domestic cities. Coffee chain brands are spread throughout every corner of the city: niche boutique stores are deeply rooted in community streets and alleys, ancient houses and arcade cafes cleverly integrate the charm of Minnan overseas Chinese towns, and new digital formats such as robot coffee and intelligent ordering stores continue to emerge. A mature and convenient 15 minute coffee convenience circle has already taken shape. From Gulangyu Historical District to Shapowei Literary Harbor, from Jimei Study Village to the city center lakeside, coffee blends deeply with Xiamen's mountain and sea scenery and local culture, forming a unique urban consumption business card.
With its excellent port location, Xiamen is also a pivotal international coffee trade hub in China. According to Xiamen Customs statistics, in the first quarter of 2026, Fujian Province imported a total of 107 million yuan of coffee, a year-on-year increase of 126.41%; In the first quarter, Xiamen's coffee import scale reached 97 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.8 times, accounting for 90.65% of the province's total coffee import value during the same period. As the core import and distribution center for coffee beans in China, one out of every four imported coffee beans in the country lands at Xiamen Port, and a continuous stream of beans are distributed and sent to various processing and consumption markets across the country.
At present, represented by leading enterprises such as Jianfa Corporation and Luckin Coffee, the cluster effect of Xiamen coffee industry headquarters is significant. The "2026 China Urban Coffee Development Report" released this month pointed out that Luckin Coffee Xiamen Innovation Industrial Park will build the largest single coffee roasting factory in China, with a total production capacity of 155000 tons after operation, ranking among the top ten roasting companies in the world. By 2025, the import scale of coffee beans by local enterprise Jianfa Group will account for 11% of the national total; Taimo Technology, Magic Horn Beast and other enterprises are deeply engaged in the research and development of equipment, instant coffee and other sub sectors, growing into industry "hidden champions" and further improving the layout of the entire industry chain.
In order to promote the coffee industry to a higher level, the Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Commerce has issued a special development plan for the coffee industry, anchoring the goal of a billion dollar industrial cluster. Relying on the advantages of port trade, strong consumer atmosphere, and the driving role of leading enterprises, Xiamen is continuously strengthening the entire coffee industry chain, allowing this strand of coffee fragrance to witness the high-quality development of the city.
