昆明不产咖啡豆,但却有着中国咖啡文化得天独厚的基因。金碧路的梧桐树影里,咖啡香已飘了近一个世纪。昆明最早的咖啡文化可追溯到清末民初,随着滇越铁路开通,咖啡作为舶来品进入昆明。20世纪30年代初,越南籍女子阮民宣在金碧路开设“南来盛”西餐厅,其招牌现磨咖啡标志着咖啡文化正式扎根昆明。从翠湖之畔到滇池沿线的历史文化村落,从繁华商圈到烟火小巷,昆明聚集了2000多家咖啡店,滇池沿岸“咖味”尤为浓郁。
“我们特别期待能让越南豆与云南豆碰撞出新的火花。”在越南中原传奇咖啡展位前,负责人何伟标说。而不远处的泰国清迈品牌LIBAELLY展位前也是人头攒动,该品牌主推的泰国精品豆吸引众多品鉴者驻足。其负责人表示,云南咖啡的醇厚与东南亚咖啡的果香形成互补,在这里看到了巨大的合作潜力。
在东南亚咖啡文化体验部落,来自印度尼西亚的客商Harris Hartanto带来了自己的咖啡品牌Coffeenatics。这是他第一次参加滇池国际咖啡文化嘉年华。“昆明真的偷走了我的心,这是一个风景美丽、人民热情的城市,云南咖啡是我尝到最好喝的咖啡之一。”说起昆明和云南咖啡,Harris赞不绝口。

“云南咖啡还是代表着中国的。”历经百余年发展,云南咖啡早已不再是藏匿于西南边陲的“小众风味”,而是扛起了中国咖啡走向世界的大旗。

回望来时路,云南咖啡从边陲试种的“异域来客”,到规模化种植的“产业支柱”,再到精品化突围的“中国名片”,每一步都印刻着发展的艰辛与不易,通过坚持不懈地努力,终以独特风味叩开了全球市场的大门。
1892年,法国传教士田德在大理宾川朱苦拉村种下中国第一株咖啡苗,就此拉开云南咖啡发展的序幕。到20世纪50年代,为联结中苏友谊,云南咖啡开启规模化种植,由外贸部门统销往前苏联和东欧国家,种植面积逐步扩大。到了80年代末,雀巢开拓中国市场,联合国开发计划署咖啡合作项目落地普洱,外资引入先进技术、设备与人才,助力云南建成第一家现代化咖啡工厂,云南咖啡产业发展也开始步入正轨。进入21世纪,麦氏、卡夫、星巴克等国际咖啡品牌相继进驻,云南咖啡品质逐渐获得了世界级认可,其发展势头愈发强劲。

云南咖啡产业发展,非一帆风顺。2011年后,咖啡价格经历8年低谷期,产业遭受重创,许多咖农无奈改种其他作物。但低谷之中孕育着新的希望,近年来,省委、省政府高度重视,出台“咖六条”等政策,推动咖啡精品化战略。各产区因地制宜谋发展,普洱聚焦全产业链,打造生态产品品牌;保山走出精品化发展路径;临沧推动“咖啡+”三产融合……云南咖啡精品率,也从2021年的8%提升至2024年的31.6%,咖啡品质得到了显著提升。
如今,云南咖啡种植面积、产量均占全国98%以上,仅2024年,云南咖啡年产量就达14万吨,3.25万吨优质“云咖”销往全球29个国家和地区。从最初的引种尝试,到成为中国咖啡产业的中流砥柱并走向世界,云南咖啡在百余年的发展历程中不断突破困境,实现华丽转身,在全球咖啡市场绽放出耀眼光芒。

Looking back at the past, it was not easy for Yunnan coffee to "go global"

Yunnan coffee still represents China. After more than a century of development, Yunnan coffee is no longer a "niche flavor" hidden in the southwest border, but has taken up the banner of Chinese coffee going global.

Looking back at the past, Yunnan coffee has gone from being a "foreign visitor" trying to grow on the border, to being a "pillar of industry" for large-scale cultivation, and then to being a "Chinese business card" for boutique breakthroughs. Each step is engraved with the hardships and difficulties of development. Through persistent efforts, it has finally opened the door to the global market with its unique flavor.

In 1892, French missionary Tian De planted China's first coffee seedling in Zhukula Village, Binchuan, Dali, marking the beginning of the development of coffee in Yunnan. In the 1950s, in order to connect the friendship between China and the Soviet Union, Yunnan coffee began large-scale cultivation, and was sold by the foreign trade department to the former Soviet Union and Eastern European countries, gradually expanding the planting area. In the late 1980s, Nestle expanded into the Chinese market, the United Nations Development Programme coffee cooperation project landed in Pu'er, and foreign investment introduced advanced technology, equipment, and talent to help Yunnan build its first modern coffee factory. Many coffee farmers had no choice but to switch to other crops. But in the midst of the downturn, new hope is brewing. In recent years, the provincial party committee and government have attached great importance to it and introduced policies such as the "Six Measures for Coffee" to promote the strategy of coffee refinement. Each production area seeks development according to local conditions, Pu'er focuses on the entire industry chain, and creates an ecological product brand; Baoshan has embarked on a path of high-quality development; Lincang promotes the integration of the "coffee+" tertiary industry... The premium coffee rate in Yunnan has also increased from 8% in 2021 to 31.6% in 2024, and the quality of coffee has been significantly improved.

Nowadays, Yunnan's coffee planting area and output account for over 98% of the country's total. In 2024 alone, Yunnan's annual coffee production will reach 140000 tons, and 32500 tons of high-quality "Yunnan coffee" will be sold to 29 countries and regions around the world. From the initial introduction attempts to becoming the backbone of China's coffee industry and expanding globally, Yunnan coffee has continuously broken through difficulties and achieved a magnificent transformation over the course of more than a hundred years of development, shining brightly in the global coffee market.

Quality+Innovation ", making coffee fragrance last forever

The hosting of events such as Kunming Dianchi International Coffee Culture Carnival has attracted a large number of merchants and tourists.
