The Ukrainian crisis and geopolitical conflicts in the Middle East have not been resolved, and the shadow of a new round of military confrontation cannot be dispelled; The United States has launched a surprise attack on Venezuela, deployed troops to Iran, and threatened to "purchase" Greenland, repeatedly engaging in bullying and domineering behavior; Unilateral sanctions, tariff barriers, and technological blockades continue to emerge, "withdrawal and breach of treaties" have intensified, and international rules have been repeatedly trampled upon and undermined

In the face of a turbulent and intertwined world, it is particularly urgent to reform and improve the global governance system. The challenges facing the international community in terms of security, development, climate, technology, etc. cannot be addressed by any country alone. The more challenges intertwine and overlap, the more it is necessary to gather consensus; The more risks spill over and spread, the more multilateral cooperation is needed.

The global governance initiative proposed and promoted by China is a systematic response to these issues. This initiative calls for the pursuit of sovereign equality, adherence to international rule of law, practice of multilateralism, advocacy of people-oriented, and emphasis on action oriented approaches, directly addressing the most prominent pain points and bottlenecks in today's global governance system.

Since the proposal of the Global Governance Initiative, China has relied on its own capabilities and the reality of the international system to work together through multiple means such as institutional participation, public goods supply, and risk control coordination, gradually forming a combination of punches to promote the transformation of the global governance system. It has pushed the initiative from ideology to action, from consensus to institutionalization, and continuously enhanced the credibility, effectiveness, and international recognition of the initiative. The Global Governance Initiative has received support and response from over 150 countries and international organizations worldwide since its proposal.

Leaders from multiple countries also expressed positive evaluations of this initiative during their visits to China. During French President Macron's visit to China at the end of last year, China and France issued a joint statement on strengthening global governance. The French side expressed "high importance and appreciation for China's global governance initiative"; Irish Prime Minister Martin praised China for playing an indispensable and important role in international affairs; Canadian Prime Minister Carney believes that the Global Governance Initiative is of great significance

These positive statements from the international community fully demonstrate the broad recognition of China's ideas and solutions. China does not export models, but promotes the construction of a more just and reasonable global governance system through consultation, co construction, and sharing. From pushing development issues back to the center of the international agenda to advocating for rule building in areas such as addressing climate change and emerging technologies, China has always been committed to the long term and taking into account all parties, providing a clear and feasible path to solve the global governance dilemma.

True global leadership lies in bridging differences, promoting unity, taking responsibility, demonstrating responsibility, and working together to plan for a better future with a shared destiny, starting from the common well-being of all humanity. To address common challenges, global governance cannot be absent, let alone regress.
