Delivery guy, please come and have a free cup of coffee

At 10:00 on August 14th, Meituan rider Zhu Sijie walked into the service space for laborers in Qiaoxi District, Shijiazhuang City. He picked up a cup of coffee from the dining table, slowly sat down, and after taking a few sips, his hurried expression gradually eased. It used to be difficult to find a place to rest after running for a day. Now here, phones can be charged, air conditioning can be blown, books and newspapers can be read, and there is free coffee every Friday, which is really good. "Zhu Sijie, from Shandong, has been a rider in Shijiazhuang for two years. Every Friday morning, as long as he doesn't catch a hot order, he will turn around and stay for a while - a cup of coffee, a magazine, it's like pressing the" pause button "for himself.
The service space for workers in Qiaoxi District is located at No. 6 Xinshi North Road, Qiaoxi District, with a warm orange exterior wall that is eye-catching and warm. Pushing open the door, you will find a water dispenser, refrigerator, air conditioning, microwave, and TV all available inside. Medicines and raincoats are neatly arranged on the storage shelves, while books, newspapers, and magazines are dazzling on the bookshelves. On the dining table against the wall, there is a coffee machine, and the bulletin board on the wall reads: Coffee is free to drink, every Friday from 9am to 12pm.
The Qiaoxi District Workers' Service Space will be opened in July 2023, jointly created by the Qiaoxi District Federation of Trade Unions and the Nanchang Street Federation of Trade Unions. The service space mainly provides services to new employment groups such as couriers, food delivery riders, sanitation workers, and ride hailing drivers. In 2025, this will become a pilot unit for improving the service capacity of national trade union relay stations.
At first, the service space was mainly staffed by community workers from Xinshibei Road on a rotating basis, but manpower was tight and it was difficult to ensure normal operation. "Li Ruiqiang, Secretary of the Party Group and Executive Vice Chairman of the Qiaoxi District Federation of Trade Unions in Shijiazhuang, introduced that when they visited and studied in other places, they learned about the local community's collaboration with third-party enterprises for collaborative management, and thus borrowed this model.
Hebei Shuishan Elderly Care Service Co., Ltd. collaborates with the community to manage the service space for workers. The surrounding express delivery companies are relatively concentrated, and we provide free coffee every Friday with the aim of spreading positive energy and paying tribute to the 'little guys' through this action, "said Qin Xiaowen, the head of the company.
This is not only a rest stop, but also a service station to help everyone solve practical difficulties, "said Meng Fanna, Secretary of the Party Committee of Xinshibei Road Community in Qiaoxi District, Shijiazhuang City. Outdoor workers can also enjoy community organized services such as volunteer scissors, legal lectures, mental health counseling, employment counseling, and professional ability improvement.
We will further expand the service content of the labor service space, continue to focus on the real needs of new employment groups, refine heartwarming services, and create more energy supply stations for them, "said Li Ruiqiang. (Hebei Daily reporter Zhao Shuhua trainee reporter Wang Jingjing)
