Changing the theme and special tune once a month is unlikely to find a second coffee shop like this in Changsha.
Boss Domi (alias) was originally a media person and a seasoned coffee enthusiast. Due to an interview more than 10 years ago, he became acquainted with coffee and is now the owner of three coffee shops.
This store has been operating in Changsha for three years, with self drying beans being the basic skill and hand washing being a reserved item. But what really makes loyal customers addicted is the monthly updated theme special. The theme special for July and August is still inspired by customers.
That's right, the boss has given the menu planning power to the customers.
Domi said that the risk of making special notes is high, and the taste is subjective. Some people like it, while others say it's like drinking traditional Chinese medicine. The reason why they insist is just because they don't want to be a mediocre "store keeper". Conquering a theme every month, just like planning a topic back then, is already interesting in itself, and interesting people naturally come together.
But entrepreneurship is not that easy. Domi told two impressive stories. The first thing was that the store received a malicious negative review, which was for a takeout order. At that time, my heart was shattered, and I reviewed it from beginning to end, even trying all the coffee shops around me, just wanting to know which link went wrong.
The second thing is that a customer said they were packing a latte, but their phone broke and they couldn't make the payment. They naively believed that the customer would come back to pay, but ended up running away.
She said that starting a business alone is too pitiful. It's impossible to cover everything and requires companions, but we can't get separated just because of conflicting ideas. This process was difficult, but fortunately the team survived. From 2026 to now, we have received a lot of goodwill, but there are also coffee shops that have fallen on the road to recouping their costs or even making money.
Domi turned the coffee shop into a flowing, living work. If you are also starting a business or considering opening a small shop, perhaps you can come and sit down.
