Wanli Street - Cute Children Unlock 'Coffee' Experience, Immersive Experience of Coffee Culture

Recently, the Yihua Party and Mass Service Center in Wanli Street collaborated with community public welfare partner Zhenxin Coffee to deliver specialty coffee public welfare activities to the youth public welfare classroom of the Wanli Street Primary School Love Summer Care Class, bringing lively and interesting coffee public welfare activities to the children of Jinyuan Senior High School Affiliated School. The theme of this activity is "Coffee Detective - A Wonderful Journey of a Bean". Through knowledge explanation, physical observation, interactive Q&A, and fun experiments, children can start from a common thing in daily life to understand the plant knowledge, production process, and life science behind coffee. The classroom atmosphere was relaxed and lively, and the children went from curiosity and speculation at the beginning to actively raising their hands to answer questions and share their discoveries, quickly entering the role of "little coffee detectives".
The activity first starts with the question of 'What exactly is coffee?'. The teacher introduced to the children through pictures and physical objects of coffee fruits, green coffee beans, and roasted coffee beans that coffee does not directly grow into brown beans, but starts from the red coffee fruits on the tree, and the seeds in the fruits are processed, dried, and baked before becoming familiar coffee beans to everyone. Subsequently, the teacher used the phrase "a journey of a coffee bean" to connect the stages of coffee fruit, sun drying, roasting to enhance its aroma, and brewing into a beverage, allowing children to intuitively understand the basic process of a cup of coffee from the fields to daily life.
In the interactive segment, the children are most interested in the "Fragrance Detective" activity. Everyone tries to describe the scent they feel by smelling coffee beans and different aroma materials, using words such as nuts, fruits, chocolate, floral fragrance, caramel, baking, etc. The children were earnestly smelling the fragrance while discussing with their classmates what the smell looked like, and various interesting answers occasionally appeared on the scene. The teacher also used this to tell everyone that professional baristas can describe the aroma of coffee through different words, and everyone's life experience is different, so they may have different associations with the same aroma, allowing children to feel the joy of observation and expression in the game.
The entire event lasted about 40 minutes, and the children maintained a high level of participation throughout. In addition to getting to know coffee itself, the teacher also introduced to everyone the different links connected behind a coffee bean, such as planting, processing, roasting, transportation, and brewing, allowing children to realize that behind a seemingly ordinary drink, there are also many people's labor involved.
This event is a heartwarming continuation of the Wanli Street Yihua Party and Mass Service Center's integration of local resources and implementation of summer care services for young people. The center will also collaborate with Zhenxin Coffee to launch more down-to-earth science popularization activities, continuously bringing fun and warmth to children.
